Portland Ten

Portland Ten

Portland Ten is a Y-Combinator-like incubator for high tech startups in Portland, Oregon, with one caveat– we don’t invest capital; we train entrepreneurs to get things done without it, and attract the necessary funds or resources as a result.

We think it’s backwards for entrepreneurs to look for funding first; rather, by concentrating on generating revenue through providing value to customers, and on getting things done in a focused, strategic way, entrepreneurs are able to grow the business on their own and attract the necessary resources or funding as they go.

The goal of Portland Ten is to facilitate the creation of ten new $1M companies in Portland by August 2010. We select ten Portland entrepreneurs to undergo a 12-week experience that trains them to build and manage a company at the $1M/revenue/year (or more) level. Our current session runs February 23- May 15, 2009.
