Spreed Inc. is a Toronto based technology company focused on finding the best ways of displaying text based content on personal computers and smart phones. Founded in 2006 by Anthony Novac, Patrick Keefe, and Suhail Mirza, Spreed is determined to prove that digital reading can be and is more efficient that traditional forms of paper and ink based content consumption.
Spreed’s first commercial product, Spreed : News, was considered a revolution in reading. For the past two years the Spreed team has been researching Cognitive Psychology specifically what the human eye can digest. From this research they have developed a number of algorithms that take into account word and character lengths, grammar, syntax and personal reading patterns. These algorithms make up the Spreed Reader which has been used in Spreed : News to help people read their daily news at speeds they never thought possible and with an overall increase in comprehension.
Spreed Inc. is now focused on developing mobile application for content providers, allowing them to take advantage of the award winning Spreed:News interface. Content providers can easily have a mobile application developed for their content over the iPhone or Blackberry. The content will be optimized both in regular formatting and with Spreed’s patented content reader. Spreed will continue researching the best ways of displaying content through digital devices while at the same time helping content providers embrace the mobile revolution.
