Canary Derby

Canary Derby

Vancouver technology companies are building soap box cars that will be raced by CEOs to raise money for the Canary Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding early cancer detection and intervention.

On Sunday September 21, 2008, the first annual Vancouver Canary Derby will be a "Race to the Steamclock" on historic Water Street in Gastown. There will be awards for top fundraisers and fastest racers. Funds raised through the Canary Derby will be donated to the BC Cancer Foundation to support early cancer detection research.

Don Listwin, Silicon Valley veteran and founder of the Canary Foundation, will be in Vancouver to launch the event, which has been a big success in Victoria for the past three years.
