John MacDonald, Chairman and CEO – Day4 Energy

Technology visionary and pioneer, Dr. John A. MacDonald, co-founder of MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates and now chairman and CEO of Day4 Energy, was recognized as the 2009 Technology Impact Awards Person of the Year for his contributions to the sector. Dr. MacDonald’s latest success Day4 Energy, a solar energy company, raised over $100 million in financing last year and also received the 2008 Technology Impact Award for Emerging Company of the Year.

David Sutcliffe

David Sutcliffe, former CEO of Sierra Wireless, won the coveted Bill Thompson award for exemplifying leadership in business and the community. With a technology career that spans 25 years, David has played an instrumental role in developing the wireless data industry. David is now actively in the technology community through a variety of volunteer efforts.

Andrew Reid, CEO, Vision Critical

Vision Critical’s Vancouver-based Community and Qualitative Team built from scratch a number of products that offer online communities and research service packages to enhance the company’s technological capabilities. This work contributed significantly to company revenue and Vision Critical’s overall success. The team was recognized as winner of Team of the Year.

Dr. Hannes Blum, President & CEO, AbeBooks Inc.

Abebooks.com , the world’s largest online marketplace for books, supports a wide variety of charitable activities and literacy initiatives, as well as offering a progressive work environment and showing environmental leadership, for which they were awarded the Leadership in Social Responsibility Award.
