Im considering having someone create our base system and user control panels using Flex and a mysql database. Originally i was thinking just using php.
im concerned about no one knowing how to use flex down the road for adding mods, expanding the system, etc.. and of any other problems using something that isn''t widely adapted. Any feedback or suggestions?

where did you hear that it's not widely adapted? this is very wrong. Flex is quickly replacing Flash.
