I am a student of Web Design need practicum

You are the one that need help and you want the company to give you their background of them self? You will not get one or what you want. You suppose to give your own background then viewers can start to see from where to help you.

I just ment how people got started in the industry and if they have tips for me as a student. I dont really know where to begin? That is the background info I asked for.
Whats OJT?

I dont know where you are living but if you go to any Government Resource Office you will see a hand-out or book on how to start small business in various fields. But to be honest with you, unless you have a support of any kind you will regret jumping into the any kind of industry in Vancouver. I will not say it is saturated or imposible but really hard to jump into without a good experience from some where and exposure to the industry. In most cases you need to know some one and build the network before you can get contract. And as a student, you even complicate things.

OJT means On-Job-Training.
You can aquire the experience you need. I mean you can have practical experience which can be used to secure good job or start your own business. Well you can still have this experience while going to school if you get the opportunity some where.
The problem will be if you are looking for a certain payment then you may not be able to get all these free..
