Everyone is talking about cloud computing - can anyone explain in layman's terms what it is.

I just wanted to say thank you for existing. This site is amazing and it makes me happy to know it's here. It makes me feel so much better that there are good jobs out there for people like me who care about making this earth a better place for our children.
