Watch Out for This Facebook IPO Scam Floating Around Today

Facebook's IPO today was the largest in the history of technology companies. The social network raised $12 billion and is now valued at well over $100 billion, making founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg one of the wealthiest humans in the world. So it's not surprising to learn that at least one IPO-related scam is making rounds today.

Symanetic has spotted a classic 419 scam—one of the oldest phishing tricks in the book, but one that still manages to catch the gullible off guard. Amazon Will Let You Advertise on Kindle Fire. But Not for Less Than $600,000

The iPhone 5 is going to have a larger screen and include a baby elephant with each purch—nevermind, this is an Amazon rumour, not an Apple one.

While Amazon doesn't often crop up in the rumour mill, a recent report by Ad Age suggests that the online retail behemoth is considering advertisements on the Kindle Fire's home screen. Sound nasty for the user? Perhaps, but you probably won't have to worry—Amazon won't take less than $600,000 for a single campaign.

FB Goes Public: Watch Facebook Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg Ring Nasdaq's Opening Bell [Video]

Today, social network Facebook went public for $38 per share at a total valuation of $104 billion. Founder, CEO, and now multi-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg rang the opening bell for the Nasdaq from his company's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, this morning. Naturally, he was wearing his signature hoodie.

Facebook is selling 421,233,615 shares of common stock to raise $12 billion in capital. This is the largest technology IPO in history. Under the ticker symbol "FB," Facebook shares are currently up over 5% to more than $40, pushing the company's valuation to $110 billion.

Samsung's First Canadian Retail Store to Open in Vancouver This Summer

Samsung has commenced construction on the first Samsung branded store in Burnaby, just outside of Vancouver. 

Located in the Metropolis at Metrotown, Metro Vancouver's biggest shopping mall, the Samsung store is designed to help Canadians "pursue their passions with an exciting new way to experience and interact with Samsung’s line up of mobile, personal computing, and consumer electronics products in a standalone retail location," according to the company.

Best Buy Canada Releases Free Android and iOS Apps

Best Buy Canada has released an Android app.

The free mobile app, which works on Android OS 2.2 and newer, adds to the retailer's roster of app offerings, which includes a similar iOS app for Apple's iPhone and iPad lineup.

The app features instant alerts when favourite items go on sale, access to additional online product information through the QR code scanner, favourites lists, and social media sharing.

Other features include the ability to review products in-app, locate stores, and schedule in-store pickups.
