Editing music with Windows XP?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know what program to use to edit music to import to powerpoint? I want to make a medley of music to put in a slide show.

I have windows XP, Microsoft Office suite, movie maker etc. but no special programs.

Have you tried Audacity? I have used it to record streaming audio and I think it has some editing features.

I agree audacity is great. I use it on both a mac and windows platform. I do have the Adobe Premiere Suite and was using Audition but that cost money. For your purpose, audacity is more than enough.

My new pet project is ripping movies to my iPod =)

You have the audacity to recommend a program I've never heard of!!?? LOL, Movie Maker ended up working fine after all (simple enough project).
