AIX / pSeries Consultant

Position Summary: Please notice that theis role is located in Vancouver, BC and includes relocation.
Working in a fast past and dynamic environment as a Systems Adminstrator, you will work within an infrastructure team in implementing robust systems for application teams. You will assist the team to implement standard superstack software for AIX, WebSphere, and DB2. The team is responsible for second level support, and where required to liaison with internal and external support teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prior experience in developing integrated systems with high availability and disaster recovery skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as you will work within a global team.
  • Hands on experience in Websphere, DB2, MQ would be an asset.
  • Implementation skills are excellent.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a major or minor Information Technology industry certifications
  • Minimum of three years relevant I.T. experience
  • Minimum of three years experience hands on skills with AIX
  • Execution is a key requirement in order to deliver projects containing server builds.
  • Deploy AIX/pSeries infrastructure enhancements to maintain a high level of quality and service levels
  • Initiate, evaluate, communicate and coordinate technical issues among different groups
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance server standards
  • Assisting in the enforcement of compliance and operational procedures set by the team
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment across geographically distributed teams through your excellent communications skills
  • Provide excellent troubleshooting skills for third level infrastructure support
  • Experienced in the financial industry would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of DB2, Websphere, and MQ Series would be an asset
