Who You Are...
You are someone who works closely with the product team to identify and answer relevant questions by using appropirate statistical techniques on avilable data. You are capable of communicating complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner to product managers and engineers.
You like to drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources. Working closely with the data engineers to extend our awesome data warehouse or put your algorithms to work on the Spark cluster excites you. You build smart algorithms to learn new data points from unstructured data which will help us to see our customers from different angles.
You may have a BA/BS or Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics or other technical field, with 2+ years experience doing quantitative analysis, preferably for a social web company.
You're Great At...
Being curious, creative, and persistant
Manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
Empirical research and answering hard questions with data
Communicating complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Using tools such as R or Matlab to analyze and model data using statistics and machine learning
Programming in a modern programming language like Python
Using relational databases and SQL
- You have experience working with large data sets and distributed data processing with Spark a plus
