Director, Marketing & Community

Nexopia is looking for an experienced Marketing Director with a flair for creative/strategic thinking to help us turn our company’s lofty growth initiatives into realities. The ideal candidate must possess excellent leadership and management capabilities as well as an understanding of web based businesses and online social networking.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, lead, and implementing marketing strategies to help drive awareness, user growth, and create a stronger company presence in the Canadian marketplace
• Develop and implement programs to further build the Nexopia community
• Direct communication strategies for reaching out to a young user base and building relationships
• Identify opportunities to implement strategies to engage users and dial up the experience on the site
• Identify and conduct focus research to better understand users and the user experience
• Build solid relationships with content producers and media companies
• Oversee PR strategies

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• A related degree combined with minimum three years marketing and communication
• Demonstrated knowledge of ecommerce and Internet business tactics, preferably strong understanding of social networking sites
• Experience developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies
• Passion for staying abreast of culture and trends
• Excel at working both independently and within a team
