Documentation and Testing Specialist (Kamloops)

Responsibilities:

  • Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of our CivicWeb suite of applications
  • Create and maintain user documentation in various forms, including on-line help tools, application-based help information, audio/visual self help tools, blogs, etc.
  • Undertake application testing, following test scripts and iCompass policy, to ensure quality levels are met
  • Maintain testing documentation and scripts
  • Report testing issues using iCompass’ internal reporting tools
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance improvement efforts and planning
  • Contribute to customer training improvement efforts
  • Gain a good understanding of local government meeting and information management processes

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in technical writing, computer science, computer programming, Web technology or a related field
  • 2- 5 years of working experience in a software user documentation and/or testing role
  • Hands-on experience interacting with various software applications
  • Experience with current documentation tools and techniques, especially in a Microsoft .net environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of automated web-based software testing tools is an asset
  • Knowledge of server load testing in a programming environment is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required as well as strong collaboration skills working in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments
  • Ability to communicate issues and escalate problems
