About the Role
You will work daily to help customers discover our marketplace and the millions of books available from thousands of booksellers. This is challenging and equally rewarding for a truly global marketplace for rare and collectable books. We feel proud to provide a seamless experience to buyers from over 200 countries purchasing products from sellers representing over 60 countries. Our traffic channels handle millions of page views and process millions of books each day and we are constantly pushing the envelope for scaling our systems and reaching customers through new channels. We like to think we know what we’re doing, and we’re always keen on learning and improving.
As an experienced software engineer, you will have an incredible opportunity to learn, navigate and influence dozens of products that make up the AbeBooks marketplace. You will automate and scale traffic channels that directly contribute to customer experience and have potential for direct impact on the AbeBooks business. You will dive deep into the world of online marketing including search engine optimization/marketing, email, affiliate marketing, and retargeting. You will work side by side your counterparts on the business teams to invent new ways of reaching potential customers. You will work with Amazon teams and Amazon technologies as we take advantage of capabilities of our parent company. Last but not the least, you will be surrounded by smart and approachable colleagues and talented peers, all while living in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
