Game UI/UX Designer

A Thinking Ape is looking for a talented Game UI/UX Designer for a full-time role in our Vancouver, B.C. office. We’re looking for a creative specialist with a history of game UI design experience. You should be passionate about taking ownership in a startup environment and creating world-class mobile products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, creating and maintaining visual designs for game user interfaces
  • Creating wireframes and mock-ups
  • Working closely with product leads and engineers in product development
  • Preparing assets for production and working closely with engineers throughout implementation

Your background should include:

  • Experience in and passion for both designing game user experience and user interfaces
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a variety of styles and mediums
  • Expertise with the Adobe suite
  • Strong typography, colour, iconography and layout skills

It would be a definite plus if you have:

  • Experience in mobile apps
  • Illustration skills or experience managing 3rd party illustrators
  • Worked in collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of today’s front-end technologies

We are a startup and the work will challenge you in all areas of the design process; from UX and UI design to asset procurement and management. As one of our resident Game UI/UX Designers, you will have the opportunity to develop into a leadership role as we grow.
