IT Glue is a purpose & core values-driven organization. We are looking for an experienced human resources rock star to join our inspired team in our mission of Freeing Minds™. You'll be reporting directly to the CEO, helping with day-to-day delivery, coordination and administration of our HR programs and services.

Your goals in this role will be:

1. Ensure HR policies and procedures are developed and implemented consistently company-wide
2. Ensure voluntary turnover is maintained at 2% annually
3. Maintain time to hire (from job posting to offer acceptance) of less than 3 months
4. Maintain annual employee satisfaction rating of 80% or higher
5. Ensure employee training and development is carried out throughout the company so that employees develop competence in their roles and have a career path for future roles

Your roles & responsibilities include:

​HR Strategy

1. In coordination with executive team, provide assistance in developing and implementing HR strategic plan
2. Ensure HR initiatives are consistent with company’s goals and objectives
3. Provide guidance to executive team on effective attraction, managing and retention of employees
4. Assist company to develop succession plans to limit liability and mitigate risk for company


1. Coordinate employer branding efforts and initiatives to position company as a desirable place to work
2. Manage full-cycle company recruitment activities (i.e. developing job descriptions and job postings, sourcing and screening applicants, conducting phone and in-person interviews, checking references)
3. Ensure job descriptions are up to date
4. Develop and update standard hiring procedures so that they are consistent company-wide
5. Provide training, guidance and support to managers on effective hiring practices
6. Maintain relationships with recruitment partners, schools, and others who can assist with hiring process
7. Prepare and update offer letters, consulting with legal counsel or HR advisors as required
8. Develop and implement new hire orientation procedures
9. Maintain paper and electronic employee records
10. Update Careers section of the company website

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

1. Assist to develop compensation strategy for company
2. Coordinate annual salary benchmarking and salary review process
3. Coordinate annual benefits renewal process
4. Ensure benefits plans are suitable for the needs to staff
5. Administer benefits program and communicate plan to employees, and ensure that benefits cost containment strategies/education are implemented
6. Administer bi-weekly payroll processing and coordinate with external payroll provider
7. Maintain employee records for time-tracking, vacation, expenses, leaves of absence, etc.
8. Maintain all employee files and payroll records

Employee Development

1. Implement and administer company performance management system
2. Ensure employee performance reviews are conducted
3. Aggregate results of performance reviews to analyze trends, development areas, issues, etc.
4. Provide guidance on performance improvement plans for non-performers
5. Source training programs and courses relevant to employee development plans
6. Coordinate employee training initiatives
7. Assist executive team to develop and implement succession and contingency plans

Employee Relations & Communications

1. Ensure employee handbook is current with most up-to- date company policies and procedures
2. Develop HR policies and procedures as they are required
3. Develop employee rewards and recognition strategies
4. Act as internal contact for employees when they have problems or concerns
5. Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys
6. Develop and implement exit interview process
7. Provide guidance on employee terminations
8. Develop employee communications strategies and materials (e.g. emails, print, web, newsletters)
9. Ensure company goals, vision and values are incorporated into communication materials
10. Coordinate activities with Marketing Department as required

Community Involvement

1. Coordinate and administer corporate social responsibility initiatives
2. Communicate with external organizations and community groups to develop support programs
3. Maximize company’s ability to leverage community initiatives as a recruitment, branding and business development tool

Skills & Qualifications

• Must have a relevant degree with a major in Human Resources or Business Administration, or a related degree
• CHRP candidate or CHRP designation preferred
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR generalist capacity
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR management capacity
• Must have a working knowledge of applicable legislation and standards (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code), preferably for BC and Alberta
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel are required
• Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must have proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Must have discretion to handle confidential and sensitive matters in an appropriate, discreet manner
• Must be able to work well independently or in a team setting
• Must have ability to multi-task and use sound judgment to prioritize activities
• Must have strong organizational abilities and good time management and project planning abilities
• Flexibility and the ability to work in an unstructured environment is ideal
