DATABASE DEVELOPER - INTERMEDIATE TO SENIOR

Job Description: Our client is a leading innovator in application server development for the international financial services industry. They are currently looking for an outstanding Database Developer to join their team.

A varied set of responsibilities requires the successful candidate to be broadly skilled, people focused and to maintain an unwavering and rigorous attention to project management methodologies.

Responsibilities will include:
Database Development:
•    Support application team with stored procedures, functions and triggers. Identify and resolve data related problems
•    Develop and execute unit tests
•    Develop Physical database design - respond to requirements while respecting the product architecture
•    Develop scripts to create/update static data and occasionally develop migration scripts

Database Support
•    Provide support of internal databases as requested (administration, backups, recovery)
•    Develop and support useful client documentation
•    Provide ongoing support to customers, application developers, product management and others in support of the growth of the business

Qualifications include:
•    B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
•    Minimum 3 years database development experience, preferably within the financial services industry
•    Solid understanding of Transact-SQL
•    Solid understanding of relational database design and optimization principles
•    Expert level system administration skills in MS SQL Server 2000/2005
•    Experience building, managing, and administering relational databases
•    Experience with data modeling using tools such as ERWin/PowerDesigner.
•    Experience maintaining large-scale database applications with several supported versions
•    Strong written communications skills in English
•    Canadian Securities Course or equivalent is an asset
•    Understanding .NET, C#, and web services is an asset
•    Familiarity with InstallShield and InstallScript is an asset
