Web Application Designer

Job Description
Sutton Realty Group Services is actively seeking an experienced level headed and dynamic web application designer for a minimum of 3 months contract (and up to 6 months) to enhance user experience and productivity to an application being remodeled. This opening position is located in Yaletown, Vancouver, and it is to start immediately.

The Role

We are looking for a web application graphic designer with solid skills in graphic handling to create icons and small images, expert in CSS for multi-browsers using Visual Studio software and programming in ASP.Net to create end-user interfaces and prototypes.
An eye for typography, layout, color, and style is a definite asset. You must have a solid experience in application development web sites for data presentation, not only graphic design.
You will be responsible for all stages of the application design of this new system in collaboration of the business analyst and the system analysts on this project. You also must have the ability to make recommendations and presentations to management and end-users.
The ideal candidate for this position possesses a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, absolute comfort working with HTML, CSS, Visual Studio and the .Net environment, excellent visual design skills, great technical know-how, and proven expertise in designing for the Web.

Main Tasks

  • Using Visual Studio, design web pages with the best possible functionality, usability, and navigation based on application functionality documentation
  • Generate creative ideas and concepts for visual design solutions
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with project managers, developers and end-users

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience designing outstanding web-based products and key members of a design team
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience using Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.Net
  • A superior design sensibility and a comprehensive understanding of color theory, typography, iconography and form language
  • Fluent in HTML,CSS, ASP.net and full knowledge of their capabilities and limitations across multiple browsers
  • Able to learn new technology and team work
    Assets

  • Use of Microsoft Ajax 2.0 and Framework 3.0
  • An understanding of the basics of user-centered design, human-computer interaction and content strategy, and the ability to work closely with professionals in these fields
    Formal Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in web application development, with a minimum of 2 years in Microsoft ASP.Net using Visual Studio 2005
