Network Developer (C/Linux)

Strangeloop Networks is seeking a Network Developer (C/Linux) with strong C/C++ development skills and 5+ years of experience developing commercial applications on Linux, Unix, or Solaris. Experience with the following an asset: (i) developing network routing/load balancing applications, (ii) performance tuning Linux in real-time or near real-time environments, (iii) developing or configuring appliances.

Objective:

The Network Developer (C/Linux) will work as a key member of a team whose goal it is to optimize application performance through the creation of custom Linux based web appliance solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience developing in C
  • Must have programming experience in Linux/Unix and experience in open source package utilization
  • Expert network programming skills
  • Familiarity with Load Balancing, Routing, and Packet Inspection required
  • A firm understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite
  • Bachelor Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent
  • CCDP, CCIE a plus

Must have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Appliance/Network-device development
  • TCP/IP stack/applications programming
  • Network protocols
  • Network security programming
  • USB or network Linux device driver support
  • Multi-threaded programming
  • Linux kernel support/programming
