Job Description
Reporting to the Senior VP of Marketing & Business Development, the Product Manager is responsible for collecting and analyzing market requirements and providing detailed feature requirements to the software development team.
Responsibilities
• Understands the customers’ problems and can distinguish between their needs and wants
• Formulates and writes system requirements that both satisfy the customer and strategically position the software for future opportunities
• Liaises between the software development teams and the market to create a product that is both realistic to develop and addresses the market’s needs, ensuring not to over-commit futures to the customer
• Monitors the market and anticipates necessary changes to the product as the market evolves
• Champions the product internally by effectively communicating the vision and benefits of the product to relevant departments and executives.
Requirements
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with a background in business
• 5+ years of previous experience as a product manager or product owner
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Able to think from a customer's perspective
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Able to research the market and understand how our products differ from the competition
• Excellent understanding of how technologies can be applied to solve real world problems
• Understands the software development life cycle
• Has a passion for developing great products
• Able to maintain a high level of trust and respect with the customer
• Welcomes challenges and not afraid of hard work
Assets
• An MBA degree
• Knowledge of affiliate marketing
• Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques
• Experience as a product owner or product manager for projects that use the agile software development model
Salary: Salary to be determined by experience
