Position Overview:
The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with others in Product Management to define the core value of ACL software products, and be responsible for providing clear positioning information to help Marketing and Sales teams achieve success in the Audit market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define, validate and maintain product positioning for all ACL software products; work closely with others in Product Management to define product advancements and improvements in clear, value-based language that resonates with our core market and provides differentiation from competitors
• Provide updated/new positioning to support all software product releases
• Develop a process to communicate product positioning and elaborate on associated product value to key internal teams: Marketing, Sales, PreSales, Tech Support and ISG
• Work closely with Marketing and Sales to define and deliver (as appropriate) key tools to support the sales cycle
• Manage the ACL Customer Advisory Board – communication with existing members, selection of new members, planning & coordination of CAB meetings, management of CAB website
• Work with others in Product Management to ensure complete, successful product release processes
• Represent ACL at various industry events, seminars and trade shows, as required
Individual Outcomes:
• Development and implementation of a process to ensure timely availability of clear, value-based positioning for ACL software products, tested and validated with key influencers, such as the ACL CAB, technology analysts and internal stakeholders
• Development of an associated process to share product positioning with key internal teams – Marketing, Sales, ISG, Tech Support – to ensure effective knowledge transfer with sufficient lead-time to ensure those teams to achieve their respective product-related goals
• An effective and efficient process for identifying, prioritizing and delivering (collaboratively, as necessary) key tools to support the software sales process
• A strengthened and collaborative process for achieving corporate readiness for software release
• An effective Customer Advisory process – including well-planned meetings, small-group conference calls, and a well-managed CAB website and communication plan
Requirements:
Job knowledge/technical skills
• Familiarity with product management processes & techniques
• Familiarity with software markets for analysis & BI tools; familiarity with associated software tools a plus
• Strong communication & presentation skills; PowerPoint skills required
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to manage staff and lead cross-functional teams
Experience
• 4-5 years in a commercial software environment, preferably in a product management/marketing or technical marketing role
Education
• B.Comm or other BA degree; MBA a plus
