Programs for Skilled Professionals

Vancouver Central College offers many programs to internationally or locally trained professionals which help them secure employment in their field of study. We have many programs in AutoCAD (engineering), Construction, IT, Freight Forwarding, International Trade and also Health Care. Most of our programs also have a practicum which is hands on work experience in a mid or large sized company. If students do well in these practicums the employer will hire them on. Our job placement rate is excellent and Vancouver Central College is in the top 3 private vocational institutions in B.C. Many people are not aware that there is funding available through the government to help them pay for courses. For example, if someone is laid off from work and they have a professional background in one of the qualifying areas, EI will pay for the individual to upgrade their skills. Also, if a newly landed immigrant (less than 5 years) is underemployed, there is government funding available that will pay for 2/3 of schooling in one of the qualifying fields for up to a maximum of $4000.

Most of the certificates and diplomas are between 3 and 8 months long. We ensure that there is support available for students so that they can handle full time work and schooling. We provide hands on training which will get you a job.

Our programs have regular start dates which gives you the flexibility that is needed to get your schooling done quickly and find a job in your field. For any further inquiries please call Amy Saini at 604-430-5608.
