POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects at the RIM Enterprise level for the Business Continuity Program.

The successful candidate will develop the project strategy and scope, including planning and scheduling to ensure that all necessary components and deliverables will be met.

The Project Manager will organize, lead and monitor the activities of cross-functional project teams while maintaining overall control of the schedule and committed deliverables.

Tracking of outstanding deliverables, milestones, and change requests also fall within the Project Manager's role, as does providing regular status updates to project stakeholders, along with ensuring ISO compliant processes are followed within the project teams.

The Project Manager's role is both strategic and tactical in focus, with broad contact and coordination with a variety of teams across RIM and senior management.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years in technical project management in the managing of short or long term projects that involve cross-functional team projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated effective team interaction skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role
  • Ability to collaborate within the project team and build new relations with internal and external partners to create new processes or fine tune existing processes
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Clarity
  • Hands-on familiarity with the Wireless industry is an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
  • Familiarity with alternate project management disciplines-Agile, SCRUM- is an asset
