STEMSOFT Software Inc. is a Vancouver-based software development company providing software solutions for the Healthcare market through its established line of STEMSOFT™ products presently being sold to cellular therapy centers in North America and Europe. We have an immediate opening for a R&D Manager/Application Architect to provide technical direction and mentorship to the R&D team.
Duties:
•Define and manage all architectural elements of projects within StemSoft application systems
•Prioritize requirement; make strategic decisions that impact the design and implementation
•Design a system which takes into consideration the ease of maintenance, performance, and compatibility with existing systems
•Plan iterations of R&D activities to be completed to ensure product is constructed in a meaningful sequence
•Write code when necessary to ensure rapid and effective development of products
•Understand and resolve technical system issues, application design issues, and business issues
•Identify major requirements of the system and necessary components
•Provide direct mentorship to all R&D team members and lead by example
•Collaborate with and guides development staff in ‘fitting all the pieces together’
•Accountable for architectural conformance
•Accountable for application integration
•Accountable for review and implementation of third party solutions or tools
Qualifications:
•At minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and 7 years of project leader/architect experience
•At least 12 years experience with object oriented design (OOD), object oriented programming (OOP), a good understanding of unified modeling language (UML), model driven architecture (MDA), design pattern service oriented architecture (SOA), and business plan modeling
•Exposure to Agile implementation
•Exposure to portals, portlets and web based technologies
•Strong leadership, interpersonal and decision making skills
•Excellent written and oral communications skills
•Ability to fully provide thought leadership and proactive systems approach
•Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes
•Understanding of the business, business drivers and business strategy
•Experience in managing the architecture and design of enterprise level solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies as well as traditional client server technologies.
•Team management skills for the management of R&D teams, Architecture teams and development teams in general
•Extensive experience mentoring and coaching software developers.
•Strong architecture, design, coding, problem solving, and debugging skills
•Strong unit testing, load testing, endurance testing and quality assurance testing skills
•Strong experience in architecting, designing and implementing high performance and scalable enterprise level systems
•Strong .NET experience
