Sales Engineer

Strangeloop Networks is looking for a Sales Engineer (SE) as the main point of technical responsibility within the sales organization for all pre-sales and post-sales strategic customer engagements. The SE is expected to have complete product knowledge and technical sales ability. The SE acts as the technical interface between the sales organization and all other company departments and is responsible for product demonstrations, technical presentations, on-site product installation, training, and support, and coordination with post-sales services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as Technical Account Manager for assigned customers.
• Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation and customization.
• Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
• Occasionally provide post-sales support and coordinate support with the support organization.
• Provide on-site training to customers about use and administration of Strangeloop products.
• Document future product needs and work with Product Management to facilitate enhancements if needed.
• Work with and train channel partner SE’s to successfully complete product evaluations for customers.
• Review, testing and creation of content for Strangeloop technical knowledgebase.
• Creation of customer deployment reference documents.
• Direct interaction with Product Development group on behalf of all external organizations and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and strong presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member.
• Conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
• Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience with Load Balancing, WAN optimization and network devices (routers, switches, etc.).
• Handles technical issues of any degree of complexity with no need for supervision or assistance.
• Technical sales experience, particularly RFP/RFI and presentation experience.
• Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with enterprise customers.
• Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience required.
• Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience recommended.
