Senior Manager, Developer Program

As Senior Manager, Developer Program at HootSuite, you will be responsible for the management and growth of the Developer Program, ensuring external developers are successful developing app integrations on the HootSuite Platform. This includes defining and executing program strategies, fostering and supporting a growing, thriving developer community, supporting app development, ensuring quality standards are met for developer program products, advocating for developers and the program internally, and communicating feedback from the developer community.

We're looking for an operational leader who is experienced and passionate about driving the strategy, management and growth of the HootSuite Developer Program. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with exceptionally high standards, startup style hunger, and a desire to constantly over-deliver. You must possess both strong business sense and in-depth technical knowledge about how web software works, ideally with experience developing web and/or mobile applications. You are an excellent communicator and leader who is comfortable interacting with any and all product stakeholders, technical or nontechnical.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision, leadership and direction for the HootSuite Developer Program
  • Build and lead a global team of Developer Program staff to define and execute scalable programs and initiatives, including online and offline outreach and support programs
  • Foster and support a growing and thriving global developer ecosystem
  • Ensure developers are successful building high-quality integrations on the HootSuite Platform
  • Understand and represent developer needs to inform the planning of new platform features and changes
  • Advocate for the Developer Program and developers internally
  • Facilitate resolution of developer issues and roadblocks
  • Analyze and communicate Developer Program KPIs and trends

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in computer science, engineering, business, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience leading a team and executing product and/or program growth plans
  • Web application development and integration experience, with solid understanding of REST API's and the web stack
  • An understanding of software quality assurance processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects to successful outcomes
  • Passion for entrepreneurship and high tech, with strong working knowledge of social media and communications
  • Detail-oriented with great organizational skills, highly analytical, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to thrive and laugh under pressure
