Are we dreaming? Probably, but Sitemasher is in search for the ultimate Software Designer to join our organization on a Permanent Full-time basis. This individual will help execute the "vision" for our innovate software and communicate & maintain that vision to the rest of the Masher Team in development.
Sitemasher is a start-up company focused on moving websites from the server room to the conference room by creating an innovative SaaS product for building, managing, optimizing, & hosting sophisticated websites, without the need for programming. Duties and Responsibilities
• Taking ideas from marketing & sales & working with the development team on putting those ideas into user stories & features. This includes working with our Jedi programmers on functionality specifications for those features
• Develop core concepts, software design documents, & software content
• Working closely with development team, sales & marketing, management, customers & other key members to deliver highest quality software content as possible
• Responsible for the organization of design, programming & production documents
• Remaining current on industry trends, software design techniques & sharing this knowledge with colleagues
• Delivering unique, innovative & engaging designs while dealing with technical & other possible limitations
• Creating mock-ups of software mechanics, menus & user interface
• Balancing & adjusting software product experiences, features & mechanics to ensure a commercial success
• Develop & implement positive changes to the software based on feedback from QA, consumer insights, senior staff members, & others
• Keeping the ‘big picture’ in mind, planning many steps ahead of production
• Responsible for developing the highest quality, most innovative software
Requirements
• BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent training required
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Software Designer
• Credited on at least 3 shipped commercial software products on a SaaS platform as a designer
• Programming or scripting language experience
• Strong organizational skills, superior communication skills & excellent writing skills of the English language are a must
• A thorough understanding of major elements of software design
• The ability to document ideas, concepts, & technical design in a format that is easy for all team members to understand
• The ability to productively discuss ideas, decisions, & communicate ideas in a wide variety of aesthetic areas
• Able to both conceptualize & implement software ideas using various tools & technology
• Willing & able to design within technical & other constraints
• The ability to multitask & be flexible about changing role requirements
• Creative problem solving ability & detail oriented
• Disciplined, self-managed & self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Passion for software development & new technology!
Sweetness Factor
• Knowledge of website development
• Testing/QA experience a plus
• Prototyping skills a plus
