Software Release Manager
Job Description:
The Software Release Manager shall work with all Project/Program Managers, and Development Managers to construct and manage an overall release management schedule. The Release Manager constructs an overall release management schedule with milestones showing key dependencies between components of the release, key phase transitions for various components, how projects are integrated together, shared testing phases, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages the escalation, bugs and feature request process and works with the team on prioritization
• Works closely with the development team on best practices and processes.
• Implements and manages the software release process and work with team members during the release cycle to ensure completeness during the release.
• Shares knowledge through knowledge articles and sharing sessions.
• The Software Release Manager works with the project managers to ensure on an ongoing basis that risks and issues are assessed and managed.
• Ensure complete release notes and publish release package communication.
• Validate the release is operating as expected.
Required Skills/Experience
• Minimum 5 years Information Technology and Project experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in a Software Release Management or related role
• Minimum 2 years experience with SVN source control system, or related products
• Strong working knowledge of the Testing and Quality Assurance practices
• Experience with release management in multiple development environments
• Understanding of the aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Strong leadership and decision making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Change management experience
• Ability to work within a diverse, performance based team environment
• Ability to work independently, multitask and focus on critical path deliverables.
• Has the ability to lead meetings and communicate course of action.
