Our client is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their Development team. You will operate at a high-level, understanding the technology landscape and how all aspects of the clients' solutions and applications are constructed and integrated. The Responsibilities
• Work closely with the business to understand business needs and conceptualize solutions to meet the needs.
• Research, analyze, communicate and recommend technologies and the associated benefits, risks and challenges with development, implementation and deployment.
• Create high level, comprehensive architectures and solution designs that include specifications, diagrams, models and presentation material.
• Create project specific deliverables such as solution alternatives and recommendations and end-to-end architectural blueprint documents that address approved project scope and business requirements
• Work with external partners to support the integration of packaged solutions
• Provide coaching and mentorship on architecture, design, construction and operation of solutions.
• Provide consulting and conduct reviews through the development lifecycle to ensure that implementations are aligned with proposed and designed solutions.
• Conduct research into specific technologies that are related to the solutions being sought. This will include in-depth analysis of the tools, market trends, vendor stability, and suitability to the overall enterprise architecture.
• Make recommendations on approach, designs, practices, systems, tools, and solutions.
• Participate in industry and/or community organizations to learn, share and collaborate with architecture professionals and represent the company.
• Perform impact and system analysis based on business requirements.
• Work with development teams to ensure that the agreed design is followed throughout the lifecycle of the project and is actively involved when variations occur.
The Key Requirements
• Diploma or degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years IT experience, with at least 3 years in an architect role.
• Hands-on experience with architecting IT solutions including: modeling, business requirements gathering/analysis, and systems analysis.
• Experience creating Architectural artifacts (e.g. conceptual, contextual, logical and physical diagrams, solution blueprint documents, etc.)
• Deep understanding of the architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices
• Ability to prepare specifications and reports, deliver oral presentations, and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
• Experience working closely with both Business and IT stakeholders, and proven experience in building and managing professional relationships and consensus-building throughout all levels of an organization
• Experience in performing complex analysis, consulting and providing recommendations
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures, Web Oriented Architectures and Web services.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Highly self motivated, accountable and directed, with keen attention to detail.
• Experience with Enterprise Application Integration methods and technologies.
• Design, development, and architecture experience in distributed and multi-tiered systems
