Overview
TP Systems’ IT staffing division brings experienced IT professionals together with BC based hiring organizations on a full-time and contract basis. One of our well established clients is currently seeking a SQL Developer to work in Victoria.
Responsibilities
• Maintain existing system, and develop new features for it when required.
• Design, develop, and cooperate with QA to test server side applications, most of which interact with MS SQL Server databases.
• Design, develop, and cooperate with QA to test web sites and/or web services, which interact with our products.
• Maintain existing applications and web sites.
• Work with other database team members to develop database and application solutions for customers within both the development and non-development areas of the company.
• Participate in architecture and technical design with the Database Architect and/or other database developers.
• Provide implementations according to defined development processes and coding standards.
• Interact with QA to ensure the solutions meet high quality standards.
Skills and Experience
• No less than 3 years experience with programming skills/Software Design/C#/MS SQL Server.
• .Net 2.0 or higher version experience is required.
• Knowledge of stored procedures, user-defined functions, views and triggers is required.
• Web service development experience is a nice to have.
• Knowledge/experience of SSIS package or DTS package, Service Broker, Notification Service, Reporting Service, Analysis Service, Database Mirroring, Database Replication, Log Shipping are beneficial to this position.
• Familiar with accepted systems design practices and systems analysis.
• Familiar with the requirements gathering, technical analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation aspects of a software development project.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Certifications
• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent diploma or working experience
