Systems Administrator (LINUX)
Responsibilities:
• Administer Linux and UNIX Server Environments (Red Hat, Solaris).
• Resolve operating system, application software, hardware, and network problems on various platforms.
• Software installation, maintenance, and upgrading.
• Hardware installation, maintenance, and upgrading.
• Research and troubleshooting.
• Routine network administration and maintenance.
• Network documentation.
• Ensure high level of server and network security.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of server and database environment.
• Manipulate data and log files to provide extensive statistical reporting.
Qualifications:
Non-Technical:
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Highly motivated with a proactive approach.
• Strong sense of professionalism and ethics.
Technical:
• 5+ years experience administrating and troubleshooting Solaris UNIX and Linux Servers with the proven ability to maintain a high level of server and network availability security standards.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases including database optimization, data manipulation and data modeling.
• Experience with best practices approaches to Infrastructure Management (ITIL, COBIT, etc…).
• Experience with highly available solutions / architectures.
• Experience with service monitoring and management frameworks.
• Experience with NAS and SAN storage solutions.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies.
• Experience with disaster recovery setup, failover and support.
• Computer Science/Engineering degree preferred.
