The Opportunity
As Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, maintenance and administration of our internal corporate network. You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our Mixed Windows/Linux Server systems, Desktop systems, as well as providing excellent customer service and system support to all departments within the organization.

This position reports to the Operations Manager, and is based at company headquarters in Burnaby, BC.
The Candidate
Icron is seeking someone to take the next step in their career by taking ownership of our IT department. You are driven and passionate about technology, with a desire to continually improve your knowledge.
You are eager to satisfy your internal customers and appreciate how both system issues and user issues can impact productivity and the company’s success. You will be able to juggle desktop support with managing the system requirements and building a robust infrastructure for the future.
Requirements:
• Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills, including exceptional documentation skills.
• Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Ability to understand and work with current configurations of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2003/07, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft DNS, Microsoft Office 2007, Symantec Corporate Antivirus, Microsoft RRAS PPTP VPN, NFS/Samba, and mixed Redhat/CentOS Linux servers, MS Access / MS SQL Server
• Perform all operational and administrative activities for system management including patch management, availability/performance monitoring and capacity planning.
• Manage our IP based Windows and Mac workstations
• Work with the business stakeholders to develop, document and implement a corporate IT Policy
• Responsible for hardware and software procurement, software licensing and vendor relationship management
• Create and maintain a consistent baseline desktop image which includes a periodic and timely patch management strategy
• Ensure our firewall (Sonicwall) is configured, and protect the network against known and evolving threats
• Maintaining and auditing the systems back up strategy and creating a Disaster Recovery Plan
• Available to work on call or extended shifts when necessary
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in the Information Technology industry
• 2-3 years experience with managing an IT infrastructure
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a similar combination of education and technical certification.
