As a Technical Support Specialist, you are responsible for delivering efficient, effective IT help desk support with an emphasis on internal customer satisfaction and education. You will apply broad knowledge of systems and programs, looking for opportunities to continually improve the organization’s use of technology, to result in enhanced productivity.

What You'll Do

  • Support internal customers in use of technology, minimizing down time and increasing productivity
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues for internal customers via phone, email, in-person, and remote tools
  • Deliver real-time education to internal customers to further independence and skilled use
  • Manage all user provisioning for new or departing employees, including licensing requirements, hardware, and ShoreTel phone setup/configuration
  • Manage all IT asset tracking including hardware and software licenses
  • Manage on-site and off-site backup of company data
  • Identify and document new processes and contribute to the IT FAQ

What you'll achieve

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the technologies utilized
  • Immediately provide support for common (well-known) systems, and remainder of systems within 3 months
  • Establish an understanding of use base and internal customer needs
  • Identify opportunities to streamline support processes and/or technology use

What you'll need

  • 2-5 years’ experience in IT and technical support
  • Windows 7/2008/2012 support and troubleshooting
  • Applied experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, FTP, File, Print and VMware
  • Mobile equipment support, including laptops, cellphones, tablets
  • Excellent understanding of computer networking and network security concepts
  • Experience with Windows troubleshooting tools and techniques
  • Very strong customer focus and orientation, with a passion for technology
  • High levels of integrity and a commitment to do what you say you are going to do
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn and continuously improve
  • Results oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and orientation to deadlines
  • Cisco network and ShoreTel voice equipment in a multi-site environment (ASA firewalls, Cisco switching, ShoreTel ECC)

ShoreTel IP phone setup and configure

  • A+, Network+, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, and other industry certifications are desirable
  • Post-secondary degree in related field
