We are looking for an exceptional Technical Writer to help us build a reputation for creative, world-class documentation and collateral. The selected candidate will work on a broad range of documentation tasks across our Product Development, Marketing, and Professional Services groups. You will have a proven ability to craft technical documentation from scratch for both online and offline publication. You have an unwavering attention to detail combined with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
• Work with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and other SMEs to clarify documentation requirements and assignments.
• Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.
• Plan, write and edit software installation manuals, user guides, and training material for a variety of media (print, multimedia and web-based).
• Perform copy editing, technical editing, and proofreading services on a variety of internal and external documents, reviewing for style, grammar, syntax, and organization/consistency of content.
• Participate in the development of company documentation standards.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Writing, or related field.
• 3-5 years professional experience in technical communications.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of desktop publishing software (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite) as well as web authoring, presentation and graphics software.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Hands-on experience with Web 2.0 publishing tools (wikis, blogs, etc) will be considered an asset.
• Experience working in an agile development environment an asset.
