TRS Contract Consulting Group is searching for an IT professional to excel in a key role in driving benefit within our clients company from the use of technology. The professional will handle management and operational responsibilities including project management, hands-on implementation of technologies, and senior-level technical support.
Responsibilities
This is a hands-on project role working directly with technology as well as managing staff, resources, and suppliers.
Project Management
• Provide strong leadership to project teams and execute project best practices
• Understand business requirements and develop solutions
• Manage IT initiatives from start to finish, ranging from new technology rollouts and upgrades, through to IT management & administration projects
• Work hands on in the implementation of infrastructure & application systems
• Work with business units on companywide projects and initiatives
• Manage vendor and internal team work and deliverables
• Contribute to the achievement of overall IT department goals including client satisfaction
Technology Implementation & Management
• Assess and implement new and innovative technologies to drive business benefits
• Manage corporate technologies including infrastructure and application systems
• Managing technology vendors and vendor service levels
• Provide senior technical support for systems
• Develop and maintain written technology documentation to facilitate IT operations & user information
Requirements
• Post secondary certificate or degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• A successful track record managing IT projects
• Excellent technical skills with infrastructure and application technologies
• True passion for working with and learning about technology
Key Assets
• Project Management Training and/or certifications (PMP, CAPM)
• Technology Certifications (MCSE, CCNA)
• IT best practice knowledge and expertise
• Experience with business intelligence systems
Additional Details
• Primary work location will be Burnaby
• A vehicle and license is required, expense reimbursement is provided
• Ad-hoc travel within BC and outside of BC will be required from time to time, including day travel and occasional extended trips
• IT operations run 7x24
• Scheduled and ad-hoc on call support work and after hours incident response will be required on a regular basis
• A company subsidized benefits package will be provided
You bring your strong understanding of systems maintenance, development, with the emphasis on integration and general project processes, as well as proven experience integrating third party products. You bring an ability to propose solutions from a wide range of tools. You have strong analysis and presentation skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
These capabilities have typically been developed through a BCIT degree and approximately 3-5 years of experience in a systems support / development / integration role, or a combination of education, training and experience in a related discipline. An understanding of the Container Shipping Industry and previous experience in an operations environment is also an asset.
