Mogo is bringing social responsibility, accessibility, and even a little fun to financial services.  We’re a diverse team of thinkers and doers focused on bringing some creative destruction to a world dominated by big banks, hidden fees, and old ways of doing things. We may have just IPOed, but being big doesn’t mean that we’re going to stop shipping and adapting fast. By leveraging technology and design, we're building a financial brand that's transforming the way Canadians access, manage, and control credit. The vision? Financial products for everyday life that we ourselves would want to use. This is only the beginning.

We’re looking for two UI Developers to help create and maintain our online customer experience – and that’s kind of a big deal.

As the UI Developer, you will work alongside our Product, Marketing and development Teams to create some fundamental pieces of our online user experience – designing and prototyping templates for email campaigns, website landing pages and other parts of our online customer experience. The UI Developer we’re looking for is fluent in a number of web scripting languages (like HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript) can expertly navigate the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop) and has mobile development experience under their belt.

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years professional experience in front end development roles
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining a range of websites and/or applications, especially consumer-facing and transactionally-focused interfaces
  • Proficient in industry design tools including Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge and ability to code in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and other web scripting languages and an understanding of how design choices translate in development
  • Experience converting PSDs into full web pages
  • Advanced knowledge of mobile development and page-speed optimization best practices
  • Proven track record and a passion for designing compelling user experiences
  • Experience in creating various prototype methods and knowledge of UI and graphic design best practices
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and communicate progress and expected milestones
  • Advanced knowledge and experience designing and using responsive grid systems
  • Advanced concepting skills and original thinking with an eye for innovation
  • Experience working within agile design and development teams an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
