Job Summary
We are at it again! Sitemasher needs to pimp up its Web Development team, so we are on the hunt for a Web Developer, aka Masher Guru, to join the team. Tons of variety in this position! The individual will be creating our customer’s sites on the Sitemasher platform, liaising, supporting, & training our clients, & performing sales support. This individual should not only be familiar with website development, but they have a stellar personality that is charismatic, fun, & customer relations oriented!
Sitemasher is a start-up company focused on moving websites from the server room to the conference room by creating an innovative SaaS product for building, managing, optimizing, & hosting sophisticated websites, without the need for programming. Duties and Responsibilities
Sitemasher Product Expert
• Create websites for Sitemasher customers
• Support sites being built by Sitemasher for customers
• Widget creation or demo site creation
• Find & report issues/bugs/inconsistencies found
• Clarify issues (providing detailed information if necessary) found to other members of development team
• Test new features as they are developed for usability & completeness
• Working with software testing team to troubleshoot complex issues
Client Support
• Working with clients on their issues & resolving them over the phone
• Providing client training (on site if necessary)
• Working with outsourced support providers
• Working in either Forums, Knowledge base, email or other technology to support & communicate with client
Sales Support
• Coming to demonstrations as required
• Online demos as required
• Creating sales support videos or HOW TO’s as required
Requirements
• Completion of a college diploma in New Media Design/Development, computer science, or graphic arts
• Experience building websites using tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator
• A solid understanding of web usability & W3C standards with regards to commonly-used concepts, best practices, & procedures to produce multi-page website
• Experience splicing & dicing graphics as well as implementing them in html & CSS
• Understands the basics of designing a site in CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) & not table layout
• Knows the differences between a blog, forum & wiki & can support in the layout & usability
• Experience with “skinning” 3rd party tools (blogs, forums and CMS) connected to your websites to give it your own look and feel
• Understands evolving website technologies
• Attention to detail
• Fluent communication in English both verbal & written
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Highly motivated
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools i.e. Outlook, Word.
