RIM to Lay Off 2,000 or More Employees as Part of Major Global Restructuring

Waterloo's Research In Motion is slated to lay off a minimum of 2,000 employees in the coming weeks as part of a major global restructuring, according to several people close to the company. RIM has roughly 16,500 employees worldwide.
If true—and it seems that it cannot be false judging by the quantity of inside sources—this will be RIM's second significant downsizing in the past year.
